     Suona master Song Hui Liu makes the following comment on Feng Cheng Du’s suona performing style: “His expertise is Chinese traditional suona, Chinese opera suona, and wind instruments of ethnic minorities, such as hulusi, guan, Xinjiang suona. He is an experienced stage performing musician, and very good at controlling timbre accurately. He delivers an authentic interpretation of the score he performs, and earns great reviews. Feng Cheng Du is an outstanding suona musician in Taiwan.”

 

     Feng Cheng Du was born on the 20th of March, 1967 in Tainan City. He was graduated from Chinese Culture University in Chinese Music. He has been a full time suona musician in Tainan City Traditional Orchestra since the 20th of October, 2000.

 

     Feng Cheng Du won the third place of suona performance at the third “Chinese Instrumental Competition” in March, 1990. He held a joint concert on the 13th of May, 1992 in National Concert Hall. Later, he had a concert on the 2nd of March, 1997 in the concert hall of Tainan Municipal Cultural Center. Feng Cheng Du participated the recording of Confucian Temple music of “Ya Yueh Shyi Sun Yin” produced by Professor Qing Cia Lin in 2000. He had been a part time lecturer at Music Department of Tainan University of Technology from September 2011 to June 2018. Feng Cheng Du is constantly invited to be the judge of both national and domestic student music competitions
