Tainan City Traditional Orchestra, Ruanxian Musician

     Shi Yun Huang is a Tainan local. Her love of Chinese music starts from junior high school. She was major in zhongruan, and her mentors were musicians Shao Xiang Liu, Wei Yi Tseng, Wen Jei Wang, and Yi Qian Chen. Pipa was her sub-major, and she received mentorship from musicians Ruo Qiao Huang, Wen Jei Wang, and Guo Wei Mao. Shi Yun Huang’s another sub-major is sanxian, and her mentor was musician Shao Xiang Liu.

 

     Shi Yun Huang has been devoting herself to teaching for many years. She has been a tutor at many primary and secondary schools and local community centers. She is an experienced performing musician as well, and has attended all sorts of competitions in Taiwan many times and delivered outstanding results. She had been not only a solo performer, but a joint member of different professional orchestras.

 

     Shi Yun Huang had been a solo zhongruan player of the score “Silk Road, Camel Bell” at the concert of Nan Yin Chinese Orchestra. She had performed in Perth, Australia, and been to Japan to have a joint performance with Chinese painter, Qin Sheng, to perform a zhongruan concerto “The Night of Torch Festival”. Shi Yun Huang did a zhongruan solo performance of the score “Folk Song” in Kyushu National Museum, and Takarazuka Grand Theater, Japan. She had been to Shandong Qingdao City to have a joint performance with Wei Fang University to be the liuqin player for the score “The Garden After Rain”.

 

     Shi Yun Huang had been the lead daruan musician to play the score “Silk Road, Camel Bell” at the concert of “The Art Festival of Liuqin and Ruanxian”, which was organized by Kaohsiung Chinese Orchestra. She was the lead daruan musician to play the score “High Mountain and Running River” at the concert of Contemporary Artists Ensemble. Shi Yun Huang had a solo recital at Tainan Municipal Cultural Center Concert Hall. She had a joint performance with Tai-Jin Percussion Group. In addition, she was the zhongruan musician in Tainan City Traditional Orchestra series concerts.
