Yong Yuan Lin is a young yangqin musician from Taoyuan. He obtained both his BA and MA degrees in Chinese music at TNNUA. He is currently a yangqin musician of Tainan City Traditional Orchestra. Yong Yuan Lin has been learning yangqin since he was seven. He was enlightened by master Bao Xing Sun. Yong Yuan Lin has received mentorship from master Hong Ling Kang, Yu Jue Huang, Shu Feng Li, and Xiu Yi Lai. He has been instructed by several Chinese yangqin masters, such as Gao Xiang Zhang, Xue Dong Hsu, Ling Ling Li, Hai Ying Yu, Se Wang, and Yu Jue Wang.
Yong Yuan Lin has been a constant winner of all sorts of national and overseas competitions since his adolescence. He has been the national champion of junior high school group and university group at National Student Competition of Music. In addition, he was the gold medalist of 2012 (Hangzhou) and 2014 (Mongolia) Chinese Dulcimer Art Festival. Later in 2014, Yong Yuan Lin was the champion of the competition organized by Taipei Chinese Orchestra. Later in Taipei Chinese Instrumental Competition he cooperated with conductor Rui Cheng Wu and became the winner. Yong Yuan Lin is a highly recognized yangqin musician in Taiwan.
Besides being a constant winner of all sorts of competitions, Yong Yuan Lin is an experienced stage performing musician as well. He held his own yangqin solo recital in 2013, and was the new talent of Chiuko Traditional Orchestra in 2014, and cooperated with conductor, Zhong Shen Chen, to perform the yangqin famous score “General’s Mandate”. Yong Yuan Lin worked with Tainan Chinese Orchestra and conductor, Jie Ming Du, in 2015 and 2017 concerts. He held a yangqin solo recital in 2017, and gained a positive response. Later in 2017, he was the star musician of TNNUA, and worked with TNNUA Chinese Orchestra and conductor, Yan Ping Ren, to perform the yangqin concerto “Girl from Kroran”. He held a yangqin solo recital in 2019, and a joint concert with Ya Yuan Zhang in 2020. In addition, Yong Yuan Lin had a joint concert with erhu musician, Yu Jing Liu, in 2021.
