Tainan City Traditional Orchestra, Yangqin Musician

     Jia Yu Tian has been learning piano, yangqin and clarinet since childhood. Her yangqin playing was enlightened by musician Xing Ya Qi. Her supervisors were Zong Xing Xie, and Xiu Yi Lai while she was studying at TNNUA. In addition, Jia Yu Tian has been instructed by several Chinese yangqin musicians, such as Ling Ling Li, Xue Dong Xu, Gao Xiang Zhang, Se Wang, Yu Jue Wang, and Hai Ying Yu.

 

     Jia Yu Tian was the gold medalist of young yangqin solo musician at The First Chinese Dulcimer Art Festival in 2012, and she was invited to Hangzhou Art School to deliver a yangqin solo performance at The First Chinese Dulcimer Art Festival closing ceremony concert, the score she performed was “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso”. Later in 2012, Jia Yu Tian won the first place of yangqin solo in university group at National Student Competition of Music, Tainan. She won the first place of yangqin solo performance at National Student Competition of Music in 2013, and held a yangqin and piano recital at Xinying Cultural Center, Tainan.

 

     Jia Yu Tian delivered a premiere yangqin performance of the score “Dead Dance” with Tainan Chinese Orchestra at National University of Tainan in 2015. Later in 2015, she delivered a yangqin joint performance of the score “Rhapsody” with Jin Chen Youth Orchestra at Xinying Cultural Center. Jia Yu Tian was invited by Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra to deliver a premiere performance of yangqin concerto “Poem” at National Concert Hall in 2017. Later in 2017, she was invited by Tainan Chinese Orchestra to have a joint performance with young flute musician Xi En Liao, to perform a flute and yangqin concerto “The Fall of Pagoda” at Tainan Municipal Cultural Center Concert Hall. Jia Yu Tian held her own yangqin concert at Xinying Cultural Center, Tainan in 2018. She was invited by Tainan Chinese Orchestra to delivered a premiere yangqin performance of the score “Teasing Fire” at National University of Tainan in 2020.
