Shi Jie Zhang is a Tainan City local, and has been learning music since childhood. He was enlightened by musician Ren Zhang Zhou. Shi Jie Zhang was graduated from Tainan Municipal Yong Kang Elementary School, Yong Kang Junior High School and Chinese Music Department of Tainan National University of the Arts (7-year system), and he was major in erhu. He has received mentorship from Li Ting Peng, Professor Feng Yu Gu, Shao Qing Gao, Yu Ming Zhang, Ren Zhang Zhou, and Yu Jing Liu. Morin khuur has been his sub-major, and received a mentorship from Li Ting Peng. Besides Morin khuur, piano has been his sub-major as well, and received mentorship from Zu Xin Pan, Han Wen Lu, Gui Mei Xie, Ruo Nan Luo, and Zong Fei Tsai. He had participated all sorts of music competitions and held concerts several times when he was a student.

     Shi Jie Zhang won the distinction award of erhu playing in high school group of National Student Competition of Music, Tainan in 2011 and 2013. He held his own recital for the graduation concert in April, 2017. Later in 2017, Shi Jie Zhang was invited to attend the art festival in Italy. He held a huqin recital at Tainan Municipal Cultural Center in September, 2021.
