Taiwan's Tainan celebrates grand reopening of Gueiren (歸仁) Cultural Center

Gueiren Cultural Center reopened in southern Tainan Saturday afternoon (May. 14) and is expected to bring more art resource to Nanguan(南關) District.
Located in Nanguan District, Gueiren Cultural Center cost approximately NT$2 billion (US$7.18 million) to renovate. Revived Gueiren Cultural Center comprizes new auditorium hall, new rehearsal rooms, and extended backstage. Stage equipment are also updated. In addition, two galleries are relocated on first floor.
Tainan City Mayor Huang Wei-cher (黃偉哲), and Cultural Affairs Bureau Director Yeh Tse-shan (葉澤山) were among the attendees at the opening ceremony. During the Opening Ceremony, performers played as local deity and guided audiences to participate in the show.
Reopening activities include musicals, Taiwanese opera, traditional and modern music, child drama, and two grand exhibitions. These events run until July.
Huang encouraged Tainan residents visit renewed Gueiren Cultural Center. He also hoped to refer more excellent exhibitions and performances for southern Tainan.
