Erhu | Yu-Ching Liu




Master of Ethnomusicology, Tainan National University of the Arts.

Yu-Ching Liu graduated from the Seven-Year Continuous Program in the Department of Chinese Music and the Master's Program in Ethnomusicology at Tainan National University of the Arts. She studied under renowned performers Professor Peng Li-Ting and Professor Ding Lu-Feng, with additional minors in piano, cello, and computer music. Known for a delicate, subtle, graceful, and expressive performance style, she is one of the outstanding young huqin players of her generation.

In recent years, Liu has engaged in diverse performance formats, participating in chamber music rehearsals and performances as well as various ensemble formations, in addition to her solo and concerto appearances. Dedicated to passing on her experience and technique in huqin performance, she frequently hosts teacher-student concerts to enthusiastic acclaim. Alongside her performance and educational outreach, she is regularly invited to serve as a jury member for various music competitions and to deliver lectures introducing and promoting the art of huqin music.
